This could very well be the case. However, it's just RUMOR at this point. It kind of makes sense in a tech world where everything is either getting bigger, smaller, thinner and, well, changing at breakneck speeds. And does the iPhone 6 Plus play a part in the rumored demise of the iPad mini? One would certainly think so. But maybe not. It appears they got their bigger iPhones, now they want bigger iPads.

I haven't seen an iMore blog about this. If I missed it, I apologize.

I suppose it's possible, but personally, a 12.2" iPad is a bit much. Heck the original size of the iPad was more than enough for me. The iPad mini fit the bill for those who wanted to use it for reading purposes and for greater portability. Unfortunately, my iPad Mini doesn't get used enough, but neither would a full sized iPad.

I read an article like this on a different website, hope it is not true. I liked my iPad mini, I have an iPad 3 now but would like to get back to an iPad mini because I liked the portability of it. Starting to not like carrying my iPad 3 around that beast is heavy.

I truly think the iPad Mini is too much of a dominant device in the 7 inch tablet space for Apple to forsake but weirder things have happened so I wouldn't exactly rule that out

I just wanted to add that when I had my iPad mini, it was just the right size device. Easy to hold with one hand, and compact enough without getting in the way.

Not a chance. The Mini is still selling very well and will continue to do so
