I was thinking if there was no such thing as leaks could that hurt Apple or any phone company sales for that matter. Like if the iPhone 5s wasn't leaked. Everyone expecting new, bigger size, bigger battery, higher res screen but only getting what the 5s is now. The public being underwhelmed with what was expected, compared to what was announced. Do you think it could hurt sales more? Just random thoughts i had and just seeing what others think.

What's the use of believing leaks if the real thing isn't out yet? You never know if they are true or not. Just wait until the phone comes out.

I think it hurts sales some times but I don't think they have as great an impact as some people believe

I don't pay attention to rumors/prototypes and we never know what an iPhone really looks like until the convention, so there's no point in excitement.

I believe the leaks do create some publicity for the company, and adds to the very allure of the trademark secrecy they have. If no one is leaking anything about an Apple device, it has become almost unfathomable at this point. Name one Apple phone or tablet device that has not leaked since the original iPhone, and I guarantee you would not be able to think of one.

Even if no one leaked the devices, it would still happen eventually. Apple's secrecy creates curiosity, and you know who Curiosity kills...

I don't believe that a shortage of leaks will have any impact on apple or their users.
