Hey people I sold my i5 on eBay the buyer says it can't be activated because I owe a balance but sprint says I don't so is the buyer trying to play me

Any advice?

Sounds like something going on with ESN on the Sprint phone. I've had Sprint for 4 years but never sold a phone I usually trade them in. I did the buy back this year on my old 5S.
