There really isn't a point of 5 Ghz. The only reason routers come with it is because less electronics operate on that frequency. You'll always get more range with 2.4 Ghz and the same speed. Well, as long as you don't have interference.

When on 2.4, I get max 40Mbps on wifi. With 5Ghz that increases to 73 Mbps
