That’s cool, was using Symbian before switching to the 8800 sirocco and then the 8600 Luna, before abandoning Nokia for the iPhone in 2007, but that is another story entirely

BB really came into prominence globally a bit later though, I believe they peaked in 2013 with around 85 million subscribes before the two CEOs nerfed RIM with bb10. The biggest blunder in tech, If they only released bbm on iOS in 2010 as a paid service, it would be a completely different company today.
