So… how are you spending the time you have back now that Facebook and everything they own no longer works?

It’s not affecting me whatsoever because I don’t have an account with any of them…. :)

Anybody remember when bbm had their first outage and the world was freaking out…. Yeah that’s not really happening here.

It affects me a little bit, because as a student, it is common to use Facebook Messenger to communicate with my peers. That or Discord.

My mom who doesn’t even have Facebook told me about it (news travels fast even among those who don’t have the app) and I was like meh I haven’t even been on today so I had no idea. It’s no biggie for me because my life goes on without knowing everyone’s status for the day🤣

BBM was the deal back in around 2007.

In Europe bbm was king between 2008-2013.

My first blackberry was a curve 8900 in 2009 and the only reason I got it was because of bbm. it was pretty much a secondary device that was only used for bbm.

I was rocking a white 3gs back then .

Unfortunately I have to rely on WhatsApp to chat with some professional peers. So, for me, it was a very calm and relaxing afternoon, I must say.

FB and Instagram I don’t use.

I got my first BB in 2005, an 8700c from Cingular. Between 2005 and 2009 I had several 8300s and one 7100. Everyone I worked with had BBs and we communicated almost exclusively using BBM. Then in Jan 09 I got a black 3g. And that was that.

That’s cool, was using Symbian before switching to the 8800 sirocco and then the 8600 Luna, before abandoning Nokia for the iPhone in 2007, but that is another story entirely . Honestly nothing really compared to the 8910 back in 2002 and it’s satisfying sliding mechanism .

BB really came into prominence globally a bit later though, I believe they peaked in 2013 with around 85 million subscribes before the two CEOs nerfed RIM with bb10. The biggest blunder in tech, If they only released bbm on iOS in 2010 as a paid service, it would be a completely different company today.

Anyone else part of the og iPhone club?

This didn't affect mine. But my wife had issues. Nothing would load. Old posts would show fine. But new post were not showing. And her Timeline was blank.
