I want to write an application for my own use on MacOS. Not on iOS, just MacOS.

I'm a newbie when it comes to development. For the most part, the examples I've found are iOS examples, not Mac examples.

My app would be a very simple app to copy files from my SD card onto the local drive, renaming them using a naming convention and numbering them sequentially.

Seems pretty basic. But like I said, I'm a newbie, and this is a first project I wanted to start myself with, as it would be useful to ME.

Thoughts on resources for Swift development newbies for MacOS app development?

    Thank you.

I have a Macbook Air, M1. I've downloaded and installed XCode.

    Mike.

Thank you. I'll take a look, although it talks about iOS development, not MacOS development. But it is somewhere to start.

    I appreciate the link.

    Thank you.

This is also a great starting point on developing SwiftUI apps for macOS: https://developer.apple.com/tutorial...ng-a-macos-app

Regarding learning Swift, it doesn't matter whether it's for iOS or macOS. Most tutorials focus on iOS but it's easy to transfer the knowledge to any other platform.
