I'm just getting started with Xcode. Should I wait for Xcode 9 and the next generation of Swift which I think is 4 to get started or should I just start now? Bear in mind I'm really new in this and I almost don't have a clue where to start except with Xcode. Any help or suggestions would be helpful and appreciated.

Why wait? If you get started now, whatever advancements the next version of Xcode brings, you'll be better equipped to understand it, in my opinion.
