Hi folks,

I now have 6 apps at iTunes, all free. Since no finances are riding on "sales", I have never kept track of downloads. But I would like to know about my download totals and trends. My oldest app is now 28 weeks old (went live June 1, 2010). iTunes Connect sales reports only go back as far as 13 weeks, while iTunes Connect Mobile app goes back 26 weeks. I've now lost the 1st two weeks of "sales" totals for my oldest and most popular app.

What can I do, if anything, to try to get this data? What can I do in the future to keep track of download totals for each of my products, short of perhaps creating and populating by hand a spreadsheet or something?

I use my MacMini as a server which polls the sales reports on a daily base. Check out the python script appdailysales. Simply configure it by entering your iTunes account infos and setup a CronJob.

We use appfigures.com to track sales and reviews. It's free up to 5 apps, but I think the "premium" cost is well worth the extra few bucks a month.
