Reverting back to 2.2.1

After following the steps to revert back from 3.0 to 2.2.1 my phone did not activate, basically it became an ipod, In settings in the About section it said the carrier was null/null.

Anyway to fix this or do I have to go back to 3.0?

Skip it, got it working. I was finishing the jailbreak before I opened iTunes. It is important to point out you do not need to go through the jailbreak process completely to restore back to 2.2.1.
