Well I just tried *228 to update my roaming and get the best out of the cellular towers around me. I keep getting a message saying "this number is not allowed". I could do this on the ip4 & ip4s.

*228 is not for 4G phones. All stuff is taken care of automatically.

You don't need to *228 with an LTE device.

If the phone allowed you to do *228 on a 4G device it would destroy the SIM card. Thats the greatest feature about 4G. it does it all by itself..

Did you read any of the thread before posting? It is not necessary to update PRLs via *228 option 2 on an iPhone5 or other LTE devices.

NEVER use *228 on an LTE device, the PRL updates automatically. It is supposed to disconnect you if you do but there have been some cases where it didn't and fried the SIM card.
