I bought the 4S day 1 and hope to upgrade to the 5 tomorrow. Obviously my contract isn't completed.

I assume if I pay the ETF to cancel my existing contract and sign a new 2 year contract I'll lose my unlimited. Is that correct?

If I just do an early upgrade and pay the subsidized price + $250 will I be able to keep unlimited?

The ETF route is $80 cheaper but if I can keep unlimited it's worth paying that to just do an early upgrade.

Does an early upgrade count as cancelling the original contract?

No, it doesn't. You simply start a new 2 year agreement. Also, you still get to keep the unlimited data plan that you have even if you upgrade early. Although, I was due for a full upgrade, my unlimited data plan remained on my account.

Just called the store and that's what I figured. Early upgrade will let me keep it, paying ETF will not. I'm fine with that.

You got the same one I'm hoping to pick up tomorrow.
