using iphone sim/data in an ipad 3g

It will work with the right APN settings. But soon after you will get a text from AT&T saying to stop or they will shut off your data.

Just be careful of how much you use. A guy at work had his unlimited plan removed and switched over to a 2GB data plan because he kept using his 4S SIM in his iPad which sucked for him but AT&T did give him plenty of warning to stop before they did it so he had no reason to complain.
