I'm considering switching to AT&T soon. I know the subtotal for a family plan, but I was wondering the taxes and additional fees as well.

Family 700 Plan - $60
Unlimited Group Messaging - $30
Additional Line - $9.99
Additional Line - $9.99
iPhone 2GB Data - $25.00
iPhone 2GB Data - $25.00
iPhone 2GB Data - $25.00

Subtotal: $184.98

I was expecting an additional $20 for taxes and other charges, and maybe a monthly bill around $205? I don't want a bill w/ the activation fee.

If you have anything close to what I was wanting, please give me an idea of what to expect. Thanks in advance.

Total around $280.

You should be able to call AT&T and ask what their taxes and other charges are.

I think taxes and fees stay the same no matter who you are with. They are based on where you live, not who your carrier is. I'm almost certain this is the case; at least, I've never heard of people switching carriers because one's taxes are lower.

Check For Your Discount

Check the AT&T Premier website to see if you may qualify for a discount.
They offer dozens of different discounts if you work for various employers or go to school.
I just left Sprint and signed up on the AT&T family plan 700 with Unlimited messaging and any mobile anytime minutes and 2GB iPhone plans and get a 20% discount on my cellular and data plan every month. Good Luck.

I have a family plan,
700 minutes - $59.99
4 additional lines - 4 x $9.99
Two have unlimited minutes - 2 x $30
Three have 200MB - 3 x $15.
Unlimited family texting - $30 (or is it $20? I can't recall)

With preimiere, i get a 20% discount on the unlimited data plans, the main line, and the four additional lines.

$60 - $12 = $48 (main line)
$40 (additional lines)
$60 - $12 = $48 (unlimited data plans)
$30 (unlimited texting)
$45 (200MB data plans)

Total is about $223, plus about $17 or so in taxes and fees.
