ATT contract question

Hello:

I got 2 iPhone 3GS about 8 months ago for myself and my mother. My mom now said she just wants a regular Moto RAZR instead of her iPhone. I could buy an unlocked RAZR from eBay and activate it on her iPhone line. The question is, could I then sell her iPhone? Would the buyer be restricted to anything? Just want to make sure I don't screw up whomever buys the used 3GS.

Should be fine once the new phone is on her line. Just reset the phone as new and put her sim in the new phone.
