I guess they've noticed that 40% of blackberry users want to switch to iPhone :P
Yeah, I guess so. I'm still a very big Crackberry fan, I'm actually listening to the latest Crackberry podcast on my iphone. I just get tired of them releasing 15 phones a year with only minor hardware updates and very minor OS updates. My 9700 had crazy battery life, but I've found that I can do twice as much with my iphone and a mophie juice pack. I also like a lot of the iphone's consumer-centric features like having the headphone jack on the top of the device. Having the headphone jack on the side makes it uncomfortable to keep the phone in pants pockets and eventually damages the headphone cable from being, for a lack of a better word, "smushed" to the side all of the time.

With that being said, I'm digging the spyshots of the next gen iPhone. I think it's going to look wicked next to my MBP and iPad. I got so excited about getting the early upgrade, that I rushed over to Gazelle and sold my current iphone. Big thanks to Leo and the MACBREAK bonus code and great podcasts.

I just got my 3GS last year - July 1 as a matter of fact. I used *639#, and got a text that I'm eligible for the upgrade for $18 + 2 year re-up. As I've been w/AT&T <one year, does this sound feasible?! I'm sure hoping so!!!

    Grrrr...my upgrade date says 5/31/2011.

On a lighter note, I clicked on the banner ad for iphone trade ins and they are willing to give me $304 for mine. I wonder if I could do better on eBay....

I'm in the same boat! I'm going to use an upgrade on a different line on the account to get the phone, but I'm pretty disappointed that they didn't bump up MY line, considering I got my iPhone before a lot of the people saying that they were bumped up. Bummer.

My monthly bill is $127.26 on a family plan with myself and one other line that has a normal phone on it.
I've had my account since November 2001, and got my 3GS on launch day last year. Feel somewhat cheated.

Hey guys, so I thought I would have to wait til' October to upgrade to the new iPhone... until the great news of bumping the upgrade date, so now I'm eligible, woohoo! So on June 15th, do I go to the AT&T or Apple website to pre-order?

Can anyone offer a concise answer as to what prompts the early upgrade?

Is it usage; monthly plan cost; or some other predetermined event.

    thanks

I have to wait until 1/26/11 to receive the full upgrade since I just brought the 3Gs. I still may be paying the discounted price though...as soon as I find out the price!
