Now this is perplexing.
This is my speedtest results from my iPhone 3G:

This is my speedtest results from my iPhone 3G S, same place, same reception:

I'm on the Rogers network, which has had a 7.2mbps network for a while now and began trials on it back in 2007. It launched the network publicly shortly after.

I'm very confused as to how this could be happening. Any help is appreciated.

After re-testing 3 times on the 3G S I managed to get 2.7mbps... Not a very big improvement especially since Rogers has a 7.2mbps network and I have full reception.

The 3GS speed difference is not in data download speed but rather CPU and video speed. It will render the pages, open apps, and play video and games better and faster. If you just do a file down and upload speed test you won't see much if any difference. Check out the video comparisons on the two when it gomes to rendering web pages and opening apps and loading games.
