    Inside sources report that AT&T will launch femtocell at the beginning of August '09. The carrier is currently conducting field tests in limited markets. No info on costs. Sprint has offered this option for a year or so. Verizon sells the femtocell for $200- and no additional monthly fees. Friends who use Verizon (can one even say that in public?) report that the devices work very well.

    A couple of negatives WRT the VZW femtocell. It won't allow you access to data (voice only), and requires a specific placement in the house to ensure GPS functionality.
