Google Maps/Waze w/CarPlay still not available with the GM version of iOS 12

I have the GM release of iOS 12 on my phone and checked the car, still no option for Waze or Google Maps. Are we waiting on an update from the app side yet to enable this or is it just not quite ready yet? Any thoughts.

Yeah, when I got into my to head home from work, that is the first thing I checked, but found that the option was still unavailable.

The apps have to be updated and since iOS 12 is not officially released until Monday they’ll probably be released early next week.

Google Maps update is out today!
Just got it myself, Yay

I'm looking forward to trying it out to see if there are any strengths in the differences

Yeah, I tested the updated Google Maps app via CarPlay around 3 PM this afternoon and it worked quite well.
