Adding Carplay to a car that doesn't have it

Has anyone added a Carplay unit to a car that didn't have it? I love my 2012 Accord and the only thing it's missing is Carplay. I know there are aftermarket units that I can buy but wanted to see if anyone else had already done it, what worked and didn't, and the frustration level on install.

Thanks buddy. I've got a unit and all needed accessories in mind, just wanted to see if anyone has done it and how "easy" it was to install.
