I hope that you can help with this.

I have tons of PDFs including books in PDF format that I am looking for an easy way or tool to help me organize, manage and access them. Ideally, there should be recognition of the text in the PDF to allow searching.

For what platform? iOS, macOS, OS X or what? If iOS, the Dropbox app is a excellent tool in my opinion. Furthermore, you can search your documents for specific text.

iBooks works well for me. Have you tried that?
