How can I get my Mac to see the Time Machine Backup on a Windows Network Drive?

In reference to the article "How to use Time Machine to back up your Mac to a Windows shared folder"

Good article and I followed the instructions and it worked. I got a good back up. But now I am having issues restoring to a fresh SSD because the mac can't see the time machine backup on the windows network drive. Any ideas?
