Just in the last couple of days my phone has started turning brightness all the way down on its own. I paid for a coffee and it went dark; hit sleep button and then touched the screen and it comes up dark. Auto-brightness is not turned on. Tried restarting. It’s not occurring with any specific regularity. Any thoughts?

Re: XR dimming has n it’s own

I’ve never experienced this with an iPhone, but I have experienced it quite frequently with the iPad Pro, especially one of the ones at my place of business and it drives me crazy.

With that being said have you tried any of the troubleshooting tips found via the following link?

1. Turn off Zoom in your device’s accessibility settings
2. Check Night Shift and True Tone features
3. Toggle on Auto-Brightness or toggle it off and on
4. Adjust the Brightness Slider
5. Do not use a Zoom Filter–set it to None
6. Toggle off any Low Light filters
7. Turn off Reduce White Point
