Is there a way to share a certain song from iTunes without having to manually sync it to a playlist for another family member?

I just didn’t know if that applied for Apple Music subscribers or if you could do it just on regular iTunes songs

Unfortunately, it’s all or they’ll have to download it manually.

Not sure exactly what you're trying to do. If the other person has Music, you can send certain songs to them in iMessage. Then they can tap on it and add it to a playlist or whatever.

what about regular iTunes songs and not Apple Music

Do you mean purchased songs? If so, I think you can share those in iMessage if they're downloaded songs. But the recipient still has to have Music to play them. You can't give music away you pay for. Who are you wanting to share with? A relative? It would help to know more about your situation.

If you're talking about a close family member, then Family Sharing is your best option. But note that a member can make purchases on your account. So you would need to set it up so they can't. I don't have Family Sharing, so maybe someone else can advise better on that.

I have no idea how it works. I've never used Family Sharing. Someone else will have to answer your specifics.

I just tried it earlier this evening and it worked.

I just tried family sharing earlier with someone in my household this evening. You can download certain songs. Go to iTunes> more at the bottom of the screen> purchased> Family purchases
