IOS music player won't shuffle or play any artist unless it is one individual song or a playlist.

First I'll go to artist and look at my own library. It will show each song as its own album. If I click shuffle all, it will say "NOT PLAYING". If I click on each album, it will take me to that song, play it once, and play nothing else by that artist. Anytime I want to listen to more than one song in a row, I have to make a playlist or shuffle my entire library, which is beyond unwieldily. Anyone else having this problem?

Select the Play option at the top of the screen to play all the music in your library.
