iPad mini 1 touch screen not working after screen replacement

iMore Question

My iPad mini 1 screen smashed after being dropped. It worked fine apart from the obvious cracks in the screen so I decided to get it repaired by a third party repairer who can highly recommended. 3 weeks later and the screen is replaced but the touch screen is not working. She has replaced the digitiser and touch screen connector but it is still not working. Any ideas where to go from here? I’ve paid a deposit for the service with balance payable upon completion which at present it is not back to working order so I really don’t know where I stand

Then the device has not been repaired or the damages included more than just display. You can attempt to get the person to replace it until it works correctly or you can make a Genius Bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store to have them diagnose and fix it. Either way, it’s going to cost you.

Having said that, it may be better to just purchase a new iPad Mini.
