Why does the iMore website accuse me of using an ad blocker when I'm not?

When I come to your site in Firefox, a pop-up window says I'm running and ad blocker. I don't. Aside from whatever Mozilla built in, the only extension I have along that line is Privacy Badger to block trackers.

I understand and support the use of advertising because I know what it pays for. So please look into how your site treats web browsers.

You just answered your own question.

While I AM running 1Blocker on my Mac and uBlock in Chrome, any blocker will trigger the pop up on the website.

Unfortunately that's the world we live in now.
