Using this guide (https://www.imore.com/how-make-archived-backups-icloud-drive-files?passport=1545004717) I attempted to download an archive from iCloud Drive on iCloud's website. Unfortunately, after selecting all folders, there is no download link available (in Safari). Is there another method to do this that may have been updated in recent releases? Note that I am trying to download an archive and selecting folders and not files. the DL icon appears for the files, but not for the folders.

My specific use case is for using iCloud Drive (2TB) to host about 700GB of files while my Mac mini only has 128GB of space.

Ideally I would like to download a periodic archive using this method to an external SSD. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to work.

    Any suggestions?

The directions therein are for “files”, not folders.

Which is why I am asking about folders instead rather than files.

Use iCloud for Windows to do this.
    It’s faster and easier.

I've actually never even thought of that, will it allows a full archive like this to be downloaded?
