What are good monitor and external speaker recommendations for the 2018 mac mini?

Currently I have an Apple Thunderbolt display hooked up to a 2012 mac mini. It's still going strong but at some point one or both will fail. I will eventually upgrade to the new 2018 mac mini and I'd like to have an excellent monitor and external speakers for watching media and listening to music. There are a ton of options out there for monitors and speakers, but what work well with the 2018 mac mini and macOS Mojave?

To be honest, any monitor from one of the more popular brands should suffice, in my opinion.
