Volume indicator showing up in middle of youtube video.

I’m on the latest version of ios 12.1 and latest update of youtube. When I increase or decrease volume while watching a youtube video both the small indicator at the top of the screen and the iphone volume indicator shows up in the middle of the screen. Really annoying can’t figure out how to fix it.
