Hello! This device worked perfectly until I upgraded to the latest MacOS. When it rebooted, it went to black screen and after a looooong delay, the dreaded file symbol shows up.
I’ve done the Option D,etc options to no avail. Apple store barely looked at it and wanted me to buy new. I’m ticked off, this device is not old! I have tested it to make sure the power supply and logic board function. They do. How do I use an internet CABLE to try to facilitate a startup?

Thank you for your help. Sign me, grasping at straws!

Command (⌘)-R: Start up from the built-in macOS Recovery system. Or use Option-Command-R or Shift-Option-Command-R to start up from macOS Recovery over the Internet. macOS Recovery installs different versions of macOS, depending on the key combination you use while starting up. If your Mac is using a firmware password, you're asked to enter the password.
