I think I would opt for the maxed out 13. Yea it's a smaller screen, BUT you will really appreciate the extra horse power when working on videos! And as you said portability is a factor. I have a thin and light 15 inch gaming laptop (MSI GS65) but it's still pretty bulking, especially when compared to the MacBook 12 inch it replaced. I also had the 13 inch MBP at one time and really loved it.

I’m in agreement with PK. I think the MBP 13 w/16 GBs RAM is the way to go.

I thought a lot about portability also when choosing a MBP and after checking them out in the store decided on the 15 inch. I'm happy with my choice the bigger screen in my opinion my be better for Video too.

FTR, the MPB (and Apple's whole design philosophy) is VERY space efficient. The unibody contruction, DOES make for a fairly thin and light laptop, in BOTH the 13 and 15 inch size. HOWEVER as I said before, the horse power DOES matter especially in video processing. So if video processing is your main app, then the best specs are what you want. :)
