iPhone 7 got really warm when charging?

So I don’t use my 7 much at all other then checking an email or two when I’m away from my desk the battery will last 4-5 days usually.

Today when it died finally I charged it and I noticed it got really warm, is this normal behavior when you don’t charge the phone for a few days? Or what is going on?

I doubt anything is wrong with the device and yes, it’s normal for it to get warm while charging.

Definitely normal for the phone to get warm. I wouldn’t worry about it. Enjoy your device!!
