I've tried holding the sleep/wake button down. I've tried holding the sleep/week button AND the home button down at the same time for over 10 seconds. All I get is the icon indicating the battery is dead. I do not get the Apple sign. What can I try next?

Or plug it in, go watch a movie and have dinner, then try again.

However, an hour usually works.
