Upgrading to High Sierra

I have a 2015 MacBook Pro. I am currently running Yosemite and every time I click the installer it gives me an error message that says cannot be downloaded to this computer. It doesn’t give me any other information. I have tried everything I can think of to get this to work with no luck. Any suggestions?

Is the computer connected to the internet?

We’ve tried both...our internet AND using our phone as a hot spot.

If I recall youu can’t jump from Yosemite to High Sierra. There’s a special El Capitan installer in the App Store. You must first download and install that. Then go from that to High Sierra.

Have you tried creating a bootable drive and then installing from it? You can view the iMore Blog instructions via the following link. I've used the bootable drive and it works like a charm.
