How to search icloud for a past calendar entry?

Hello. I recently learned that "on newer devices" as the apple tech described it, it is not possible to search and find past calendar entries that are older than one year. Bummer because I often need to search by name to find calendar entries from several years ago.

I learned that the historical information is of course stored on icloud. What I am trying to determine is what steps to take to search by name for calendar entries older than one year. I have been unable to find any such directions. Can any one help? Thank you in advance.
