I have recently updated my apps on iPad. Some of the files I had on Pages and Numbers on my device have been transferred to ICloud Drive. I can see the file but cannot open them. What do I do?

I would rather not use iCloud Drive and would prefer to keep them on my device. How do I get them back?

The only reason I can think of why the files won’t open is that you’re not on WiFi and you have cellular data turned off for the Files app. As far as moving the files to your local device, long press on each document, tap Move, tap On My iPhone, then select a local folder you’d like it moved to.

I occasionally find that the file names appear but are grayed out.
I just do a hard reset and all is well.
    Good Luck
