Just bought a used iPhone how do I know if it’s unlocked

I just bought a used iPhone from someone I got it I had a pretty good cost how do I check and see if it’s locked or stolen I put my Verizon prepaid card in it and it worked but what if I wanted to switch to AT&T

I’m going to assume it’s a GSM model iPhone. If so, simply find a friend who’s on the AT&T network and ask if you could insert his or her SIM card into your iPhone to see if it registers.

In regard to whether or not it’s “locked”, I’m going to assume you mean locked via the iCloud Activation Lock. With that being said, I would say no since you’re able to use the device.
