CarPlay - Can I use iPhone's microphone instead of my car's?

My car's built-in microphone is very poor - people constantly complain about my audio dropping out and being a bit garbled when I am using my iPhoneX in CarPlay mode.

If I unplug my Phone and just make a call on my phone an let the phone's microphone handle audio-in then folks say everything sounds crystal clear.

So basically, I want to tell my iPhone, when using CarPlay - send audio OUT through the car's speakers. But when using audio IN use the iPhone's built-in microphone.

Is there any way to do that?
