MS OneNote: Windows to Mac

My colleagues are working on a project using OneNote on various Windows machines and are storing the files on our Google Drive. I have an updated version of OneNote via Office 365 on my Mac but can't (yet) read/collaborate on any of their files. From what I have read, this seems to be an unsolvable problem - but most of what I have read is over a year old. Have there been any changes on any sides of this problem that now make it possible for me to read their files?

If they are sharing the notes and you are among those who they are sharing them with then you should be able to access those notes via the OneNote app on your devices.
