"update not available on this apple id."

I get the above error message whenever I enter my apple i.d. to do updates to apple applications such as garageband. I think it's because I changed my i.d./email address somewhere down the road... I think it was a few years ago.

It's like it stopped accepting my new address.

What can I do?
