My son picked up this functioning iMac G4 at a local thrift store for $40. It’s running OSX 10.5.8. It recognizes our home WiFi network but cannot connect to it. Any idea how to get it to connect?

If you’re using WPA2, make sure the G4 can connect to it. Also, some G4 models can only connect to 802.11b.

Pretty sure I’m using WPA2. How would I determine those other points? I was hoping I could find a component I could just plug into a USB port that would pick up the WiFi.

I would go through your Wi-Fi router’s menu and disable encryption to see if the G4 will connect. If it does, I would then Re-enable encryption, but with just WPA. If it connects to it, but not WPA2 then you’ve found the problem.
