I was given a new Apple Watch as a Christmas present over 2 years ago but I never took it out of the box (crazy, I know). I would love to begin using it now but was told by an Apple representative that it may no longer be good. Is there a reason I cannot just begin to charge it and start using it as if I just received it?

Why would it not be good? Was this "Apple representative" trying to sell you a new watch?

As others say there's only one way to find out.

Open the box, turn on, charge, enjoy.

It may not have some of the newer features, but it should work.
