    I have tried to save some files to desktop, but when I open them, they all contain all the information from all my files? this is a new computer so there aren't many yet, but still..

    I think a little clarity is needed in regard to your dilemma. You stated, "...when I open them (them meaning your files), they all contain the information from all may files". My brain hurts from trying to visualize what you mean. What sort of information are you seeing?
