    When setting up a device as a home hub is it not possible to use your iMac as the home hub? I only see mention of using an iPad.

    HomeKit is an iOS app, so I don’t believe it can be setup with an iMac. Hopefully someone with more experience on this topic will chime in soon.

    I see the point that we’re talking two different OS’s. Seems like an iMac would be a more reliable hub than an iPad would. iPad battery could die, iPad could be removed from the home etc...I would think Apple could make it work for an iMac.
