I was wondering: if one uses smart invert while reading newspapers like NYT, all the black not working LEDs should result in a remarkable longer battery life.
Has anyone tried to messure that?

I have not.
I’m always near a wireless charger pad, and I don’t think too much about battery life.

While I haven't measured it, I don't think the battery gains would be all that great. Sure, you might notice a slight increase in battery life, but unless you used a dark mode with true hex black backgrounds battery savings are going to be minimal.
