Iphone 6 Plus: composing text message, the "To:" contains all the group text members.

So when I compose a text message to "Fred", I get all the groups that Fred has ever been in in the possible "To:" field... how to have just "Fred" show up and not have to delete all the zillions of other "Fred" entries.

That's a very good question. I've noticed this annoying behavior as well, and would welcome a good solution.

    Try this.

When starting a new message in iMessage, look at the "i" symbol in the recent group conversations and addresses. Tap that and then select "Remove".

When you type ‘fred’, hit the @ symbol and it brings up just his name.
