imessage disappearing from lock screen

If I'm sitting at my desk and I get a imessage, and don't touch my phone, it will eventually disappear. I dont have an apple watch or Mac that i am reading the messages on to say that is the cause. Same is happening to my wifes phone. We are both on iOS 11.0.1 and it has happened on 11.0 also

Have you gone through the Notifications settings to make sure things are set to accommodate your personal preferences?

For some reason, Apple has decided that we need to swipe up on the lock screen to view older notifications.

It'll take some getting used to, just cuz it's so new still. Once it becomes muscle memory it'll be like it's always been there. But you are right, it is cleaner!

they disappear from the older notifications too. The setting are set that to show on lock screen and show in history. I just shut off the show in history

I shut off show in history and that seems to be keeping the messages on the lock screen
