Why do I have to wait nearly 24 hours before I can update apps?

iMore Question

This problem has been happening very frequently the last couple of days.

Basically in the morning if I try to update my apps on the App Store it keeps saying "The iTunes Store is unable to process purchases at this time" and this problem occurs until like 5pm when it fixes itself and then starts working again. And it happens roughly every 3 days both on my iPhone and iPad.

The only way I can get it to "update" is to literally DELETE the app and install it again if I don't want to wait for this downtime. But I don't want to do that because I have to keep setting up the apps again!

I seem to be the only person with this problem. Can anyone help?

I don’t know what to tell you, except to try any of the following:

1. “Reset All Settings”
2. Reset the network settings
3. Sign out of the iTunes & App Store, reboot your device, and then sign back in to the iTunes & App Store
4. Reboot your cable modem, Wi-Fi router, and your iOS devices

If you're getting weak a wifi signal during certain times of the day, Reset Network Settings should help. Be sure to log back in to your wifi afterwards.
