How do I check the Apple Pencil battery on iOS 11

Tried pulling down top menu. Nothing.

Tried bring up Control Center. Nothing.

I'm sure I am missing something obvious!

Swipe to the right from your primary home screen. If you have the battery widget installed then it should display. Mine does.

Sorry to necro post, BUT I just encountered this issue. @Just_Me_D is correct, you simply need to add the battery widget. Here's how you do that.....

  • There is no battery status indicator on Apple Pencil so you cannot directly check the battery percentage of it. You need to enable iOS 9’s battery widget on your iPad
  • On your iPad Pro, swipe down from the top of the screen to bring Notification Center.
  • Switch to the Today view, scroll down to the bottom and tap the Edit button.
  • Tap the green Plus sign next to "Batteries" to enable the widget.
  • Tap Done.
